Privacy Policy

Amud collects nothing, stores nothing on any server, and sends nothing anywhere.
There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDK of any kind. The app contains no networking code at all — it works exactly the same on a plane with the radio off.
Location
If you allow it, Amud reads your device's location. It uses this for two things, both of which happen entirely on your phone:
- to work out whether you are in Israel or in chutz la'aretz, which changes Yom Tov Sheni and when tal u'matar begins;
- to calculate your zmanim — candle lighting, shema, shekia, when Shabbos ends.
That coordinate is never transmitted, never uploaded, and never shared. It is not sent to us, because there is no "us" to send it to — Amud has no server. You can decline the permission and instead type in the name of a town; that works just as well.
Notifications
If you switch on the daily notification, it is scheduled locally, by your own phone, from a calendar it computes itself. No push server is involved and nothing about you leaves the device.
What we would give a government if they asked
Nothing, because we hold nothing.
Children
Amud is rated 4+ and is safe for any age. It collects no data from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
